What we Do
SafePlace is a multi-dimensional model that allows each unit to be uniquely created to best meet the needs near that particular unit. Because of this, a number of different projects have evolved out of the SafePlace model. The three main pillars are Security, Social Services, and SafePlay- and everything we do is to meet the end goal of creating physical, emotional and social safety for the most vulnerable in our communities.

Our SafePlace Units exist to protect the most vulnerable members in our society with run-to facilities for those who are escaping gender-based violence, abuse, or sexual assault during the most dangerous times of the night.
In the afternoons and weekends, we work to empower the generation of youth by giving them space to safely be with friends, play sports and games, and opportunities to get ahead educationally and socially.
Our Social Services team is always on call to help with initial trauma response as well as follow up, counselling and long-term assistance for families and individuals who have experienced trauma.
Wave of Hope Surf Academy is a mentorship program for kids that come out of our SafePlay program that allows mentoring and life skills using Surf as a means of teaching and the ocean as the classroom.
