About SafePlace

What we do?

SafePlace is working to meet the need of an immediate place of safety for vulnerable people in communities around the Port Shepstone area, Many of the people we serve are victims of abuse, gender-based violence, rape, and sexual assault.

There are three pillars of the SafePlace Model that seek to not only protect vulnerable people from dangerous situations, but holistically bring change to our community by eliminating fear of violence and empowering leadership and community.

SafePlace is run by a diverse and dedicated team of leaders, social workers, and youth mentors from the Port Shepstone area, and reports directly to a team of advisors and the Genesis Trust Board.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide physical, emotional and social safety for the most vulnerable members of society.
