Providing Physical, Emotional and Social Safety for our Communities.
The SafePlace Model
Our SafePlace Units exist to protect the most vulnerable members in our society with run-to facilities for those who are escaping gender-based violence, abuse, or sexual assault during the most dangerous times of the night.
Welcome to SafePlace
In the afternoons and weekends, we work to empower the generation of youth by giving them space to safely be with friends, play sports and games, and opportunities to get ahead educationally and socially.
Our Social Services team is always on call to help with initial trauma response as well as follow up, counselling and long-term assistance for families and individuals who have experienced trauma.
Our mission is to provide physical, emotional and social safety for the most vulnerable members of society.
SafePlace is working to meet the need of an immediate place of safety for vulnerable people in communities around the Port Shepstone area, Many of the people we serve are victims of abuse, gender-based violence, rape, and sexual assault.
There are three pillars of the SafePlace Model that seek to not only protect people from dangerous situations, but wholistically bring change by eliminating fear of violence and empowering leadership and community.
